    BD-R, DVD-R & CD-R Printing

For small runs, duplicated Blu-ray, DVD & CD discs are printed using the highest quality 400 dpi Full Colour Thermal Printing. This provides the highest quality and most stable image available for small runs of discs. Most high end thermal printers will only print 300 dpi, a lower resolution.

For larger runs (500+), we use Offset Printing, which are generally not available for small runs due to setup costs. This is exactly the same quality as you receive on our replicated DVDs and Blurays and the ones that you see in your local video store or supermarket.

    Warning - Alternative Printing Methods

DVD Infinity does not support inkjet printing or adhesive labels. The reason is simple: lower quality and lower compatibility. Inkjet labels not only have an inferior look and feel but are not water resistant or smudge proof unless a varnish is applied. If the varnish is applied then their life expectancy is drastically reduced as the varnish contracts and expands at a different rate to the disk layers.

Another cheap way of printing is to use adhesive labels printed on a laser or inkjet printer and then applied to the disk, sometimes referred to as a coat or coating. Over time, these develop air pockets and peel. Even before this starts to happen, if the label is even microns off centre, it can effect playback and compatibility in some players.

    Print Templates

The following templates may assist you with your artwork preparation.
  • Illustrator template (.AI)
  • Photoshop Template (.PSD)
  • Encapsulated Postscript Template (.EPS)
  • DVD Dimensions in Acrobat

    Slick dimensions are 182 x 272mm (129mm/14mm/129mm, Front/Spine/Back) with 5mm bleed around all edges.
  • Illustrator template (.AI)
  • Adobe Reader Template (.PDF)

The following print requirements should be adhered to in order to ensure fastest delivery times and avoid any additional costs.
  • Use CMYK colour
  • Use a resolution of at least 400 dpi or 290 lpi.
  • Include 5mm bleed on slicks, no bleed on DVD face
  • Include any special fonts
  • Supply a printout of all artwork files
