16mm film sales, processing & transfer packages

16mm film sales, processing and transfer packages

In an attempt to create a market for film making for the home enthusiast, in 1923 Eastman Kodak introduced the 16mm film format. Initially, the film industry looked down on the format. However, quickly the format was adopted by government, educational, business, medical and industrial sectors as a much more portable format at a much lower cost.

The 16mm format was the first safety film, only ever made in an acetate film (compared to the highly flammable nitrate film used for 35mm film).

In recent times, high definition video has meant a reduction in the use of 16mm film as people tend to either go for the cheaper Super 8 or the more convenient high definition video formats.

16mm film sales, processing and scanning

DVD Infinity is now able to offer 16mm sales, processing and transfer packages. Your 16mm film is bought and transferred through DVD Infinity in Australia. Processing is done manually to avoid scratching. Transfer is performed by DVD Infinity's world renowned scanning systems.

The packages include:
Sales of 16mm on 100ft film reels
Scan 16mm film to miniDV in either miniDV or DVCam
Output to NTSC or PAL
Output one frame of DV for each frame of 16mm film or slowed to normal video speed

Note that DVD Infinity is not currently able to offer 16mm processing

See also transfers of 16mm film to DVD, Blu-ray as well as a variety of file formats in both standard and high definition

Please note that we also have 16mm film accessories for sale. These include film cement, leader film and 16mm film reels, etc.

Aren't your 16mm film memories worth preserving?
